So this house is in The Hideout. I am not exaggerating when I say that I searched for YEARS to find the best place to buy a house in the Poconos, and The Hideout is definitely it. The place has everything. It is gated (safe and secure), beautiful and has absolutely everything you could ask for in a resort community for both residents and vacationers alike. This resort has golf, tennis, skiing, snowboarding, skating, boating, swimming, beaches, basketball, pools, racquetball, pickleball, handball, hiking, a community center, gameroom, exercise/workout room, an art/crafts center, a restaurant, and other stuff I can’t even remember right now. Hunting nearby. The house is Awesome. Five bedrooms, three FULL baths – Master Bath has a Jacuzzi tub and walk-in closet, hall bath has a tub/shower and downstairs bath has a shower. Most of the house has been completely redone. Main room has three walls full of windows, amazing natural light and views with a vaulted ceiling. The pictures really don't do it justice. Large wraparound deck with seasonal view of lake. Three bedrooms on main level. Kitchen, dining area and living room with fireplace is wide open. Sunlights in living room and master bath. No paneling, all walls are freshly painted. Lower level has its own bath with two additional bedrooms. Long driveway can fit multiple cars, no problem. Large wooded area behind house. Street is very close to the North Entrance, small beach and a basketball court. There are a few beaches, and this house is about a seven minute walk from a nice one. Resort is close enough to stores to be convenient, but secluded enough to completely avoid any sign of traffic. Less than fifteen minutes to US 84. Less than half an hour to Scranton and even closer to Honesdale and Dickson City. A bit over two hours to NYC. No pets allowed (owner allergic) but there are kennels nearby. Smoking allowed outside on deck. One of the things people like the most is that there is alcohol available. People that have stayed in homes at the Hideout repeatedly tell us that this is the nicest house they've ever stayed in. Upon arriving to the property you'll note the double sized lot for your added privacy. You'll also immediately see that the front deck spans the entire length of the house with plenty of space to spread out, cook on the propane grill, or just hang out with your family and friends (please note that there is a security camera on the front of the home facing the driveway and front yard). Resist the urge to sit down as you've only just arrived and still have a lot to see. Let's walk in through the screened in porch, where you'll find a table with seating for 6 and a ceiling fan for your comfort. We usually find ourselves hanging out in here during a rain storm and enjoying the beautiful fresh air that accompanies less-than-perfect weather, and a fresh layer of water on the trees and ground. In this porch area you'll find the main entrance with a keyless entry lock (code will be provided 48 hours before arrival). Punch in your digits and welcome to the stay-and-play chalet! Take a moment when you open the door to take in the expansive open floor plan which flows seamlessly from the dining area, with seating for 8, to the living room with super high vaulted ceilings and a propane fireplace, to the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, pots and pans, coffee maker, blender, toaster, just about everything you'll need to whip up a full family sized feast, and, there's also a counter bar with seating for three, for those quick bite meals. Again, no pitstops as we still have a lot to see. Turn around from the kitchen and you'll see the dining area that has a beautiful country style table big enough for that Thanksgiving feast and seating for up to 8, comfortably. Let's slide over to the living room where you'll see a brand new sofa and love seat, as well as a propane fireplace for those chilly nights and cool mornings. Also in this space is a flat panel tv which boasts a smart blu-ray player with dozens of movies, as well as smart app access so you can stream your favorite Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and YouTube shows. Simply log in with your own account credentials and pull up your familiar lists (just remember to log out before you leave). Binge time! But wait, there's more....also on the main level is an oversized master bedroom with king sized bed and custom headboard. This room also has a large sitting area that could double as an area for your crib or playpen (not provided) or an inflatable mattress (provided in the master closet). The room also has A/C and access to the en-suite master bathroom that has a full shower and tub. This master bath also has access from the kitchen to ensure privacy for those staying in the master suite. Let's keep it moving. Still plenty to see, so let's get comfortable, kick off your shoes and grab a glass of wine (or coffee/tea) and let's head upstairs. Back through the kitchen, and around the corner and through living room, let's head up a flight of stairs where you'll arrive to the loft area that has a fantastic birds eye view of the main living space, the dining area and great views of the trees outside through the signature shaped front windows. In the loft you'll also find a super comfortable foldout futon (not an oxymoron, it really is comfortable!) for sleeping or just hanging out away from the rest of the home. There's also a comfy chair and a few books for you to just hang. This area also has access to the 2nd full bathroom (shower and tub), and 2 additional oversized bedrooms, both with flat panel HD tv's, A/C's and queen sized beds. Each room also has full closets and dressers as well as windows overlooking the back of the home with nice views of the woods. Ok, back down to the main level, check your glass as you pass the kitchen area to see if you need a refill, and then let's head down a flight of stairs to the lower level game room. You've now entered the game zone, where you'll find a full sized pool table, ping pong table and foosball table...surely the site of many a heated match with your friends and family. Also in the lower level you'll find another comfy foldout futon and cable TV so you can watch the game while playing the game. This level will surely entertain you and your group for hours on end. Loser does the dishes (just kidding, there's a dishwasher)! Also in the lower level, you'll find access to the back yard and the laundry room where we provide detergent and dryer sheets if you choose to do some laundry. Plenty of other little details that we won't mention here, but they're surely lead to a more comfortable and complete home-like experience. And here's the bonus: As we mentioned, we're located in the award winning, 4 season Hideout Community which comes with added perks! The Community enhances your enjoyment by providing excellent entertainment, and a host of amenities like golf, swimming (pools and lakes ), row boats, paddle boats, kayaks, tennis and so much more. The house includes dishes, silverware, pots and pans, towels, one roll of toilet paper per bath, one roll of paper towels, small hotel hand soaps. Please be aware that the house is in a gated community, so in order to book I need the name and ages of all guest to register you with the gate. At night, enjoy some drinks around the propane fire pit, and on those crisper evenings, you can fire up the restaurant-grade outdoor propane heater. Summer is our favorite time to be at the Hideout because we can walk down the hill (about 10 minutes) and the kids can splash in the community pool and lake while we enjoy some beers on the beach. Winter months offer skiing and tubing on the hill just around the corner, and ice skating. Warm up by the fireplace when you're finished! With 2 big living rooms, 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, you'll all have your own space!

This house is in the Hideout, a 4 star gated community. They offer activities for adults, teens, and toddlers. During the summer they have swimming and tennis lessons, day camps, and sports camps available. Our LISTED PRICES are for 10 PEOPLE, including infants. An additional $20 per person, per day or night is to be paid for extra guests up to a maximum of 15 people, even if those additional 5 people are infants. Payment is required for the entire rental period, even if people leave before the rental period ends. If paid for, the MAXIMUM number of people who can be in the house or on the premises during any rental period is 15. Those 15 names are to be given to us prior to the rental date, and no substitution of guest is allowed. Be aware that the site VRBO/HOMEAWAY is the one that takes your credit card information, collects all payments for the rental, and keeps your security deposit. Check-in is at 3: PM. CHECK-OUT is at 11: AM. Please keep in mind that we do not negotiate the rules mentioned in this ad. The house has AIR CONDITIONING IN EVERY ROOM, (including the game room), and has a wood burning FIREPLACE. There are five 55 inch FLAT SCREEN TVs, in the house, plus one 50 inch TV, and 2 older average size TVs. The community has 2 beaches, one swimming pool for adults, one for children. Fishing is allowed with a permit, but it's a catch and release fishing policy. The Hideout issues a FINE if fish are not released. Check where to get a fishing permit with the Hideout, as location changes at times. Skiing is available on the premises, weather and snow availability permitting. Keep in mind that SWIMMING IS AT YOUR OWN RISK, whether in the lake, or in the pools. Diving is never allowed. There are big rocks at the bottom of the water. (Swimming pools are available for use during the summer season only, that being from Memorial day through Labor day.) You can rent a kayak, or canoe from the Hideout, close to the main pool, during the summer season. You can also bring a boat no bigger than 17 feet... Final on boat size and insurance have to be discussed with the Hideout... You must have a PERMIT from them for your boat. The house offers FREE WIRELESS INTERNET access. Special Property Features: 1. GAME ROOM. A 23 x 23 foot garage turned into a game room. It's carpeted, heated, has AIR CONDITIONING, ceiling fans, TV, cable, DVD player, full size PING PONG and POOL tables, HOCKEY table, plus bowling and other children games. The game room also has a sofa, at least 15 chairs, and tables. This game room is detached from the house, permitting all night playing without disturbing anyone in the house. - The game room has a medium size refrigerator. 2. PRIVATE BEACH. There is a private sandy beach on the property with its own DOCK, a FIRE PIT, and an adult 2-3 sitter WOODEN SWING. - Please do not leave children alone on the dock, or on the beach. Even if they are with you, ensure that children, or anyone who does not know how to swim, has a life vest on. This floating dock shakes, (due to the motion of the water). The dock extends 16 feet into the water. HOUSE LAYOUT: Top level has 2 bedrooms with A/C, queen bed in one room, & a bunk bed with full size mattress on top and bottom in the other room. A bathroom is in the center of these 2 rooms. Main floor has a master bedroom with a king size bed and A/C, a bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room with A/C, and one wood burning fire place. An additional dining room with large windows facing the lake, allows full view of the lake, and also allows 15 people to eat together. Third level (basement) has a 4th bedroom with a queen size bed, A/C, TV, and a DVD player. In addition, the third level has a family room with a bunk bed with a full size mattress at bottom, and twin mattress on top. This family room used as a 5th bedroom also has a bar, TV, DVD player, a bathroom, and a laundry room with a washer and dryer. As one exits the family room through the sliding glass doors, there is a sun room turned into a 6th bedroom with a bunk bed with a full size mattress at bottom, and twin on top. This 6th bedroom has a TV, DVD player, and A/C. That room has 3 large uncovered windows that face the lake. The newly built room on the third level, has the HOT TUB, and the fourth and new bathroom. We provide pillows and blankets, please bring your own sheets, towels and pillow cases. LAKE WALLENPAUPACK is about 15... minutes from the house, and provides water activities and waterfront restaurants. For skiing, SNOW and ELK mountain are about 25 minutes away, CAMELBACK mountain is about 40-45 minutes away. NO PETS ALLOWED. (The Hideout issues FINES for any pet seen in the community without being registered at the Hideout.) Keep in mind that besides our rental fee, the Hideout charges a registration fee of $100 for up to 3 nights. (We do not charge you the $125 for 4 to 7 nights' rental that they charge. We charge $100 for all lengths of stay.) The cleaning fee is $150. ( Cleaning crews have to clean 3 levels, plus the game room, and empty and clean the hot tub after every rental.) There is a $300 SECURITY DEPOSIT required, IN ADDITION TO the required $79 RENTER'S INSURANCE, that's offered by HOMEAWAY/VRBO. The reason for the security deposit is because your renter's insurance will not pay for every charge you might cause. For example, if anyone in your party gets a speeding ticket, a littering ticket, etc at the Hideout, your renter's insurance will not pay for it. (Inside the Hideout, this gated community, the speed limit is 15 to 25 mph.) Therefore, if someone in your party gets a speeding ticket, or any other ticket at the Hideout, your security deposit will be used to pay for that ticket. The Hideout charges a late fee of $40 if given less than 2 working days to process your registration paperwork. Please allow at least 5 days or nights to process a rental, since the Hideout requires at least 3 days to process your rental without an additional fee, and they are closed Sundays and Mondays. They also close by 4: pm the rest of the week. Pennsylvania charges a 6% State sales tax for short term rentals, meaning rentals less than 30 days, and a 3% rental tax for Wayne County. VRBO/HOMEAWAY collect ALL your payments and hold on to your security deposit. As of February 2019, they started collecting the 6% of all your fees and pay the State your required 6% tax. As of April 2019 they started to collect the 3% tax for the County. Renters can leave anytime, but others cannot come in to take their place. We request a list of the FULL NAME of everyone staying at the house, INCLUDING INFANTS. Copy of a picture ID of the main renter is required. KEEP IN MIND THAT PRICES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE ESPECIALLY AROUND HOLIDAYS. MAXIMUM 5 CARS are allowed during the summer, it's cut to 4 cars during the winter because of snow. Drivers bringing a car to the Hideout, are to have a d after their name to identify them as the ones needing a car tag allowing them to get through security. A MINIMUM 3 NIGHTS rental is required ON HOLIDAYS. Year round at least 2 nights' rental is required. Next year's weekly summer rentals start on June 20, 2020. NEW YEARS EVE requires 3 nights' rental. Any of the 3 nights including New Year's Eve is at $485.00 per night, for a total of $1455 plus fees, for those 3 nights for 10 people. Summer WEEKLY RENTALS refer to arrival Saturday, to departure the following Saturday. RENTERS - Main renter must be at least 25 years old, have photo ID with age available for us, and to show the Hideout. Main renter must reside with the group during the entire rental. There are two couches (one is a sleeper) and an oversized chair and ottoman for your entire group to gather. Grab a blanket from the collection and cozy up in this warm and inviting room. Off the living room is a bedroom with two single beds and next two the bedroom is a full bathroom. Entertain on the wrap around deck that has a dedicated barbecue area with a 36 inch gas griddle and a gas grill. A picnic table and lounge chairs make this deck complete. The second level of this home has two bedrooms and a Jack and Jill full bathroom. One bedroom has bunk beds and a queen size bed. The other bedroom has a queen size bed and a balcony. Now the basement. Enjoy a game of fooseball on a ESPN table. You can also enjoy your favorite movies or even sing karaoke. The wet bar will allow you to make your favorite drinks while you sit at the Pub Table and enjoy the fun. Head out the doors, sit on the lower deck or get into the six person hot tub. Two kayaks are available in the summer. Also in the basement you will find another bedroom with a queen bed and another full bathroom with a fabulous towel warmer. Life is good with a warm towel. There is full laundry room with a washer, dryer, iron and board. It is such a welcoming home, but here is the best part. In the summer, you are a five minute walk to the lake. Load the kayaks on the cart, grab the beach chairs and head to the beach/lake. Don't have to worry about driving to the lake, just a quick stroll. In the winter, you are a five minute walk the other way to the ski slope and ice rink. Enjoy the outdoors, renting skis or sleds and come back to a cup of hot chocolate at the coffee bar.
